We thought he was gone because of the current weather, but the sun is still in business. The two largest solar flare of the year took place on Monday, reported NASA.

These eruptions were

class X, is the most intense for this type of phenomenon measurement category. The first class X1, 7, took place on the night of Sunday to Monday, while the second, twice as fast (class 2.8), occurred late Monday afternoon.

eruption and coronal mass ejection

This is the first time this year that the solar X-class flares occur. NASA said that each of these eruptions are accompanied by a coronal mass ejection (CME), a bubble jet of solar wind (plasma of charged particles) in space. If it can not cross the Earth’s atmosphere, a CME can still have an impact on the Earth, including disrupting communication systems. But this is not the case this time, reassures the U.S. space agency.

number of solar flares is increasing in recent years as the cycle of solar activity – a period of eleven years – rises and must reach its climax this year. The latest and most powerful solar flare took place in August 2011, with events X6 class 9.
