Vine arrives on Android smartphones - BBC

The application of mini-videos of Twitter is now available on Android phones. Will further increase a little more its popularity among internet users.

Twitter announced Monday the arrival of the Vine application on Android phone. Five months after its introduction on the iPhone, Vine is now available for free on Android 4.0 or higher smartphones. The principle of the application is simple: it allows for microfilms six seconds broadcast loop via Twitter. Very popular, it is already used by 13 million people, including many celebrities.

Vine for Android is not exactly the same as the iPhone version. For the moment, it is not possible to make videos with the front camera or identify people by tags. Twitter has acquired a start-up in October, however, promised that updates are planned in the coming weeks. The same application could soon benefit from exclusive features to Android.

Vine development is reminiscent of Instagram. Founded in 2010, the application is available on Android since April 2012. She then won a million new users in just 12 hours. Today, the company boasts 100 million users who go online at least once a month on their behalf.
