Google buys spider.io fight against fraud - 20minutes.fr

Internet giant Google on Friday announced the acquisition of the British company spider.io specializing in the detection and fight against piracy to online advertising.

“Advertising helps fund the digital world,” said Neal Mohan, one of the leaders of the advertising services of Google, in a post on the site of its DoubleClick advertising. “This ecosystem can flourish only if advertisers can buy (in space) online media being certain that their advertisements affect real people, they see that the results are based on a real interest,” says there.

advertisers typically pay for their online advertising based on the number of clicks they generate, supposed to reflect the interests of users. Some hackers distort the system by triggering automatic clicks mass from infected computers that can detect spider.io.

Google plans to integrate this technology to its fixed advertising and video products, according to Neal Mohan. The Internet group and provide an additional guarantee its advertisers on the reliability of its traffic statistics, and therefore bills they perform. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
