PARIS (Reuters) – Orange suffered on January 16 a cyber attack on its website that allowed hackers to steal personal data of hundreds of thousands of customers, reports site specializing PCInpact.
Hackers have entered the website of the operator from the “My Account” in the customer area and stolen data such as names, addresses or numbers phone.
passwords were not affected and less than 3% of customers, approximately 800,000 people were affected, said Orange’s technical director, Laurent Benatar at PCInpact website. Affected customers were notified by letter to prevent them from being trapped by fake emails (“phishing”) and the operator has filed a complaint.
