Technological innovations to come could cause the net loss of 5.1 million jobs over the next five years in fifteen countries representing 65% of the labor world work, according to a projection made by the foundation of the World Economic Forum.

In total, the Forum, which holds its annual meeting this week in the ski resort of Davos, Switzerland, anticipates a total loss of 7.1 million jobs and the creation of 2 million new jobs.

Two thirds of these losses occur in administrative areas where the machines would perform the most routine tasks, according to this study based on a global survey of executives responsible for strategy and human resources.

The World Economic Forum has made the industrial revolution, covering robotics, nanotechonologies, biotechnology, 3D printing, the central theme of its 46th annual meeting.
