New technologies – A summit to set priorities … – Le Défi Media Group

Set priorities and the strategy to be adopted by the Technology sector of information and communication technologies (ICT) in Mauritius. This was the objective of the second edition of the Summit International Data Corporation (IDC) – Chief Information Officer (CIO), held at Le Meridien Hotel in Pointe-aux-Biches Thursday, August 11th. More than a hundred participants were present at the summit, which aimed to provide a platform to the IOC and other industry professionals.

They have have discussed with foreign experts of different subjects such as data centers, cloud computing, cyber security, digital transformation, connected objects and smart cities. Also addressed the importance and changing role of IT managers and CIOs. These professionals now carry the caps makers, innovators, facilitators and strategists.

IDC is a multinational firm consultancy specialized in ICT. It has seven regional centers, including one in Africa and the Middle East including Mauritius depends. The company operates in 110 countries worldwide and is based on a thousand analysts. The vice president and regional director for IDC Africa and the Middle East, Jyoti Lalchandani, presented the trophy “Pioneer in the Development of ICT in Africa” ​​to the Minister of Technology, Communication and the Innovation Étienne Sinatambou at the summit. The event was organized in collaboration with the National Computer Board and was sponsored by Dell, EMC, Juniper, K2, and Maxtec SimpliVity.
